Luna
‘Safety creates the space to grow.’
Luna is our White Swiss Shepherd, often referred to as the white wolf. She was born on a night of the full moon. Her pedigree name is Howling at the Moon, inspired by the song by Milow, and Luna means moon in Spanish. To us, her name feels like a special connection to Ayla, whose name means moonlight in Arabic. Together with Ayla and Shiva, Luna symbolises the new chapter we began in Spain.
From the very beginning, Luna brought an incredible amount of enthusiasm into our lives. She is full of energy, endlessly curious, and would happily go on an adventure every single day. At the same time, new situations can sometimes feel overwhelming for her. And it is precisely in those moments that she teaches us something valuable every day. Luna shows us that growth does not mean you have to face everything without hesitation.
Sometimes, true strength lies in taking a moment to observe, to feel, and to decide whether something feels safe.
Only when she experiences that sense of trust does she take her next step. And once she does, she often discovers that she is capable of far more than she ever imagined.
That also asks something of us.
How do we guide her with love? How do we give her confidence without protecting her from everything that feels uncertain?
How do we help her discover that she can do it herself? Every day, we search for the right balance.
Luna reminds me that growth takes time. That trust cannot be forced.
And that the smallest steps often lead to the greatest transformation.
During coaching sessions, I often see the very same process in people. We, too, sometimes need someone to walk beside us. Someone who does not pull us forward but quietly gives us the time and space to take the next step ourselves.
From safety comes trust.
And from trust comes growth.
Luna reminds me that courage does not mean you are never afraid.
Courage means taking that next step, even when you feel the fear.
